Length of the route: 1.3 km
Route description: The route starts near the red pump house on Kylätie. The path initially runs through flat lakeside woodland, which is flooded in spring. There are boardwalks in the wettest sections. The route heads towards the narrow Kotiniemi headland, which juts out into Lake Keurusselkä and offers a beautiful view of the lake. The lakeside path continues to Häkkisenharju, where there is a slight incline. Along the route there is plenty of deadwood, pine trees with shield bark over 200 years old, large spruces and a rowan grove. The final section of the path runs across damp grassy peatland, rising to a birch-covered slope. An area in Häkkiskylä protected by the landowners. Information boards along the route provide details about the area’s nature and history.

Rest areas and facilities: Guest book. At the village jetty, 150 metres from the car park, there is a campfire site with firewood and snacks. No toilet facilities.
