SUMMER ROUTES (also suitable for mountain biking):
The Seipo fitness trail and field at the sports centre are floodlit. Length: 2.5 km. An easy, flat 300 m track on the field. Around the ice rink is a 700 m loop, and the so-called ‘water tower loop’ is a further 1.2 km of fairly easy tracks. The longest loop features a long descent and ascent, which is steep in places, but there are no winding descents. The track connects across Lake Kivelä. Start at Einari Vuorelantie 4–6. In Kivelä, there is a 4.6 km illuminated fitness trail and the 8 km Mahlakorpi circuit (with a hut). The illuminated circuit is fairly easy. The descents are straight and fairly gentle, and the ascents are gentle, apart from a few sections where the gradient is slightly steeper. The Mahlakorpi circuit is also generally gentle. From the hut, there is a long downhill section, which curves to run parallel with the road at the end and crosses the road. Start: Kelloniemen tie 17. The Ketvelniemi fitness trail is a 2.5 km illuminated route. It runs through a residential area. There are two road crossings. There is one steep climb of approx. 5–10 m. Otherwise, it is a pleasant, gently sloping route. The start is at the local sports park on Runkotie 96. Map of the Ketvelniemi fitness trail (pdf)
The Nyyssänniemi fitness trail is 0.8 km long and floodlit. Easy and flat. No designated car park.
Keurusselkä Sports Park:
The lights are currently not working on the Peurunniemi and Montosvuori trails. As soon as you enter the sports park, a longer, lit route branches off from beside the upper bridge towards the garrison trail, which includes the 4 km upper loop of Montosvuori. Connecting route to the Keurusharju cottages and Hotel Keurusselkä: 1.5 km. Events are generally held in the sports park at weekends, during which access may be restricted, mainly in the stadium area. Starting points: Keurusselkä Sports Park, Keurusseläntie 14, and the upper loop of the garrison can be accessed directly via Kolhontie 535. Map
