Stray animals
Under the Animal Welfare Act, the local authority is responsible for arranging temporary care for dogs and cats found straying and taken into custody within its area, as well as for other similar small companion and hobby animals.
The Town of Keuruu has entered into an agreement with Anita Viitanen, the owner of Kokkomäki Stables, regarding the provision of the aforementioned care service. Kokkomäki Stables is located in Asunta, Keuruu, at Kokkotie 98.
The animal will be kept at the shelter for at least 15 days, unless the owner has collected it before then. If the animal is not collected within the specified time, it will become the property of the shelter.
When collecting the animal from the care facility, the owner or keeper is obliged to pay the care facility for the costs incurred in caring for the animal.
You can find the contact details for the lost and found animal services in other municipalities covered by the cooperation agreement on each municipality’s website.
