    Domestic water

Our drinking water is high-quality groundwater. There are four groundwater extraction points. Samples are taken from our drinking water at regular intervals.

Our water is soft, so you can use a minimal amount of detergent when doing the laundry or washing up. The average pH is around 7.6 and the total hardness is around 2.1 dH.

    Quality of domestic water

16 March 2026 The water sample met the quality requirements and quality objectives set for domestic water in the parameters tested (Ministry of Social Affairs and Health Decree 1352/2015). The samples were taken on 21 January 2026. The following were tested: manganese, iron, odour, taste, pH, turbidity, electrical conductivity, colour, Escherichia coli, heterotrophic plate count, coliform bacteria and faecal enterococci.

9 February 2026 The water sample met the quality requirements and targets set for domestic water in the tested parameters (Ministry of Social Affairs and Health Decree 1352/2015). The following were tested: odour, taste, Escherichia coli, heterotrophic plate count and coliform bacteria.

26 January 2026 The water sample met the quality requirements and targets set for domestic water in the tested parameters (Ministry of Social Affairs and Health Decree 1352/2015). The samples were taken on 21 January 2026. The following were tested: manganese, iron, odour, taste, pH, turbidity, electrical conductivity, colour, Escherichia coli, heterotrophic plate count, coliform bacteria and faecal enterococci.

14 November 2025 The water sample met the quality requirements and targets set for domestic water in the tested parameters (Ministry of Social Affairs and Health Decree 1352/2015). The samples were taken on 11 November 2025. The following were tested: manganese, iron, odour, taste, pH, turbidity, electrical conductivity, colour, Escherichia coli, heterotrophic plate count, coliform bacteria and faecal enterococci.

3 October 2025 The water sample met the quality requirements and targets set for domestic water in the tested parameters (Ministry of Social Affairs and Health Decree 1352/2015). The following were tested: odour, taste, Escherichia coli, heterotrophic plate count and coliform bacteria.

26 September 2025 The water sample met the quality requirements and targets set for domestic water in the tested parameters (Ministry of Social Affairs and Health Decree 1352/2015). The samples were taken from the network on 23 September 2025. The following were tested: manganese, iron, odour, taste, pH, turbidity, electrical conductivity, colour, Escherichia coli, heterotrophic plate count, coliform bacteria and faecal enterococci.

10 July 2025 The water sample met the quality requirements and targets set for domestic water in the tested parameters (Ministry of Social Affairs and Health Decree 1352/2015). The samples were taken from the network on 7 July 2025. Tested for Escherichia coli, heterotrophic plate count, coliform bacteria and faecal enterococci.

    Wastewater

We hope that the wastewater arriving at the treatment plant contains only urine, faeces and toilet paper. All other items should be disposed of in the bin in the bathroom, kitchen, garage and other rooms. Items we do not want include, for example, paper towels, toilet roll tubes, sanitary towels, panty liners, tampons, nappies, cotton buds, various cleaning cloths, medicines, socks, underwear, toys, glasses, paints, solvents, fuels and lubricants, greases, oils and so on.

We treat wastewater at two treatment plants. Samples are taken from the wastewater at regular intervals.

    Wastewater quality

20 March 2026: At the time of the inspection, the treatment results from the treatment plant fully complied with the conditions of the environmental permit. Inspection date: 11 March 2026

2 March 2026 At the time of the inspection, the treatment results from the treatment plant fully complied with the conditions of the environmental permit. Inspection date: 19 February 2026.

17 February 2026 At the time of the inspection, the treatment results from the treatment plant complied fully with the conditions of the environmental permit. Inspection date: 5 February 2026.

29 January 2026 At the time of the inspection, the treatment results from the treatment plant fully complied with the conditions of the environmental permit. Inspection date: 21 January 2026.

22 December 2025 At the time of the inspection, the treatment results from the treatment plant met the conditions of the environmental permit in all respects except for phosphorus removal efficiency. Organic matter was removed very effectively and the clarification result was good. The concentration of soluble phosphorus
in the effluent, 0.066 mg/l, was at the target level (<0.1 mg/l). Alkalinity, 0.63 mmol/l, was at the target level (target level >0.6 mmol/l). Nitrification was complete. Abundant runoff and meltwater. Monitoring date: 10 December 2025, Keuruu.

22 December 2025 The biological process at the treatment plant functioned well, effectively removing organic matter. The phosphorus precipitation and solids clarification results were also good. The residual concentration of soluble phosphorus, 0.015, was at the target level of <0.1. Both nitrification and the phosphorus precipitation chemical consume the process’s alkalinity and lower the pH. At the time of observation, the pH was low, at 4.9. Observation date: 10 December 2025, Pihlajavesi.

11 December 2025 At the time of the inspection, the treatment results from the treatment plant complied with the conditions of the environmental permit in all respects except for the residual phosphorus concentration and treatment efficiency. Inspection date: 27 November 2025.

20 November 2025 At the time of the inspection, the treatment results from the treatment plant complied fully with the conditions of the environmental permit. Inspection date: 11 November 2025

28 October 2025 At the time of the inspection, the treatment results from the treatment plant fully complied with the conditions of the environmental permit. Inspection date: 16 October 2025

9 October 2025 At the time of the inspection, the treatment results from the treatment plant complied with the conditions of the environmental permit, with the exception of the residual phosphorus concentration (result 0.42 mg/l, permit 0.4 mg/l) and removal efficiency (result 94%, permit 95%).

2 October 2025 Results of the analysis of dried sludge. The concentrations of harmful metals in the sample analysed were below the maximum levels specified in the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry’s Decree on fertilising products (MMMa 064/2023)
