    The Keuruu Sports Centre is located in the town centre, near the school. The Sports Centre also houses the depot for the Sports Department’s outdoor facilities maintenance staff.

    The sports centre offers the following activities:

    The Sports Services department is responsible for the maintenance of sports facilities, whilst the Parks Department is responsible for shelters, green spaces and the playground.

    Outdoor trails


    The area boasts an extensive network of outdoor trails. The trails offer the opportunity to exercise at your own pace across a network totalling approximately 80 km. A trail map and trail markings are available immediately upon arrival at the sports park, next to the footbridge. There are also plenty of other trails in and around the stadium area.

    In summer, you can run, walk, go Nordic walking and cycle along the trails in the sports park.

    Buildings

    The Keurusselkä Sports Park area comprises three multi-storey buildings, a maintenance and café building, and sauna and meeting facilities. Enquiries regarding the buildings and facilities can be made to the Sports Department on 040 827 2753.     The playground at Haapamäki School features a wide range of play equipment for all ages, a resurfaced tennis court, a sandpit and a multi-purpose arena. The school also has a sports hall and a gym. As you head
    towards the sports field, the area continues, and a 9-hole disc golf course starts from the car park of the church opposite the school, winding its way through the terrain of the fitness trail. The illuminated fitness trail starts at the sports field and is 2 km long. (The lights are operated by a push-button and stay on for 2 hours at a time). In winter, the fitness trail is used as a cross-country ski track. The sports field area features performance areas and a tarmac running track, as well as a 300-metre stone dust track that circles the perimeter. There is also a covered outdoor exercise area and a grass pitch. In winter, the area features an ice rink and a small skating area. The maintenance building houses changing rooms and a kiosk.

    Haapapuisto is a fairly new meeting place in the centre of Haapamäki. The area features a pump track and an outdoor fitness area. The playground at the local nursery can also be used. Near Haapapuisto there is a small sandpit, which is tu ed into a skating rink in winter and a small cross-country ski track. On market days, there are stalls and a café in the area.

    A pump track is a track designed for cycling or scootering. Instead of pedalling, riders move forward using a pumping motion. Use of the tracks is free of charge.
