About the museum

Art and cultural history in the centre of Keuruu. Keuruu Museum serves as both an art museum and a museum of cultural history, providing cultural services to local residents through its year-round exhibitions.

Keuruu Museum

The Keuruu Museum is a professionally run museum that receives state funding. On 1 January 2026, responsibility for the Keuruu Museum’s operations was transferred from the Keuruu Museum Foundation to the City of Keuruu.

In spring 2026, the museum will move from the historic Kamana building – a renovated old stone ba – to new premises right in the centre of Keuruu. The exhibition spaces and the museum’s activities will undergo a transformation as a result of this move. We will reopen to the public in summer 2026. Due to the move, there will be restrictions on the museum’s services and opening hours throughout 2026. A notice regarding these changes can be found at the bottom of the page. As part of the move, the museum’s various websites and content will also be updated during the spring.

The museum’s permanent staff (the museum director and curator) are currently working on organisational changes and the move, as well as the refurbishment of the new premises and the planning of exhibitions for 2026. We will gradually retu to other, less urgent matters relating to museum operations as 2026 progresses.

The museum staff’s offices are located at Keskusaukio 3, 42700 Keuruu. For urgent matters or to book a visit, the best way to contact us is by email or telephone. The museum’s exhibition and public areas will be located on the ground floor of the same building. According to current estimates, the refurbishment work on the new premises will be completed in May 2026.

Exhibitions and opening hours

The Keuruu Museum’s exhibition programme at Kamana ended on 31 January 2026, and the museum will remain closed until summer 2026. We will provide further details about the summer exhibition and the future of our exhibition programme on our website during the spring.
