Kipinä groups
- Kipinä’s House Committee, or TaTo, consists of a group of young people who want to influence the youth centre’s activities and play an active role in organising them themselves. TaTo meets once a month to plan upcoming events such as Halloween, discuss current challenges and have a say in future purchases. At Kipinä, the young people run the café on Fridays to ensure fresh pastries are available for visitors. Anyone aged 13 or over can join by contacting youth worker Annika Korpinen.
- Kipinä’s Äksönvuoro is a dedicated activity session for pupils in Years 4–6, featuring guided activities and a variety of fun things to do. At Äksönvuoro, we do crafts, play games, bake and have fun, depending on what everyone fancies. The session is open to everyone and you can join in without registering. Äksönvuoro takes place on Tuesdays at Kipinä from 5pm to 7pm.
- KeMAKe, or the Keuruu Mang Club, meets on the upper floor of Kipinä every Wednesday from 5 pm to 8 pm. At KeMAKe, we play games, watch films, cook, enjoy snacks, hang out together, draw and read. KeMAKe is a group run by young people themselves, and they plan the club’s activities.
- Kipinä’s house bands get together to play in the band room downstairs at Kipinä. The house bands are made up of secondary school and sixth-form students. Tommi Isoaho acts as the band leader.
- The Kipinä Billiards Club meets on Fridays after school to practise playing billiards with a focus on improving their skills. The club is aimed at secondary school pupils and sixth-form students. We are accepting 6 members. The club meets on Fridays from 3.15 pm to 4.30 pm. During the season, the club will take part in the youth centre’s national championships. (Note: The group is full!)
- The board games club meets on Tuesdays from 3.30 pm to 4.30 pm on the upper floor of Kipinä. In the club, we play various card and board games together. We play old favourites and lea new ones. The club is aimed at pupils in Years 4 to 6.
All Kipinä clubs are free of charge. The clubs will start in September; details of when they begin will be announced in August.
