The courses are open to everyone, so you can take part regardless of where you live. On the course website, you can filter the selection by location and topic, or browse the full range.
The printed course catalogue is published in August each autumn. From 2025, Posti will no longer deliver unaddressed publications, so next autumn the catalogue will be available for collection from local libraries and possibly other municipal distribution points.
Printed study programme
The printed study guide for the 2025–2026 academic year will be available for collection from libraries and municipal offices in Keuruu, Haapamäki, Multia and Petäjävesi from 7 August, and from Keuruu Swimming Pool from 11 August. Additional collection points are available at Kauppala in Pihlajavesi and Heinähattu in Petäjävesi.
Information about new courses and changes to the programme may be published not only on the college’s own study programme pages (opistopalvelut.fi) but also in the Suur-Keuruu and Petäjävesi newspapers.
Students are responsible for purchasing their own books, course materials and supplies. You can request a certificate of attendance. A certificate of attendance costs €5 for the current academic year and €21 for previous academic years.
Course registration
As a general rule, you must register for courses in advance. This is specified for each group. The registration period is stated separately for each course.
If there is no mention of advance registration for a particular group, you should register directly with the teacher on the first day of the course.
There are two options for registration:
- by phone on 040 640 4694 (no text messages) or
- Online: Link to online registration (opistopalvelut.fi).
The groups will not run if there are not enough people who have pre-registered.

Cancellation of registration
If you are unable to attend the course, you must cancel your booking five working days before the course begins. Please notify
the college office of your cancellation either by telephone on 040 640 4694 or by email at kansalaisopisto@keuruu.fi.
Registration and course fees
By registering, you agree to pay the course fee. We will invoice you for the course fee based on your registration. If you are unable to attend the course, please remember to cancel your registration at least 5 days before the course starts. A place on the course is always personal; you cannot transfer your place to a family member, for example.
Introductory session
You can attend a long-term course – lasting a whole term or academic year – free of charge on one occasion, namely the first session of the course.
Please note! If you decide not to attend the course after the taster session, you must cancel your place yourself at the college office within one week (7 days). If you do not notify us of your withdrawal, you will receive a payment link or an invoice for the course, which you will be required to pay. For all courses, a payment link or invoice will be sent to those who are registered for the course at the time of invoicing.
Points to note during a site visit
If you are unable to attend the first session of a long-term course but would like to visit the course for free at a later date, please register for the course no earlier than one week before your visit. If you wish to cancel your place on the course after your visit, please follow the instructions above.
For shorter courses, there is no free taster session, and payment links or invoices will be sent out once you have registered.
Start of the course
The course will only go ahead if enough students have enrolled by the end of the registration period. Once the course begins as previously announced, no reminders or further information regarding the start of the course will be sent to those who have enrolled prior to the course starting. The college will only contact you if the course is cancelled, the start time changes, or you
have been offered a place from the waiting list. A minimum number of students must be present at the first session for the course to start. It is therefore advisable to attend the first session.
