    Shortcuts

The centralised application period for early years education runs from 1 to 31 March 2026. However, you can apply

for a place in early years education in Keuruu at any time of the year (up to four months before the start of the period when early years education is required) via the online application system eDaisys(you will be redirected to another service).

Early years education in Keuruu has switched to using the Daisy system with effect from 1 December 2025.

A parent or guardian can use eDaisy to apply for a place in municipal early years education for their child and for a service voucher, provide details of their income, and cancel a place in early years education.

Pick-up and drop-off times, as well as daily communication between the nursery and parents, are managed via the DaisyFamily app.

How to apply for a place in early years education

You must apply for an early years education place for your child no later than four months before the start date. However, you may submit your application up to six months before the desired start date. If the need arises due to sudden employment or securing a place at a further education institution, the application must be submitted no later than two weeks before the child needs a place in early childhood education. You can list three preferred places on the early years education application. It is advisable to list more than one preference in case there is no space at your first-choice place.

    After submitting the application

The nursery manager will process your application approximately one month before your preferred start date. If you wish to change any details on the application, please contact the nursery manager. Notification of the decision will be sent via eDaisy. If you have not opted in to electronic services, the decision will be sent to you by post. The nursery manager will contact the parents/carers once a place has been allocated.

Securing a place in early years education

Where possible, a place in early childhood education is allocated based on the family’s first choice, provided there is space available in the centre and the group. When allocating places, we take into account individual circumstances, such as the child’s need for support, sibling relationships and the start date of the child’s need for early childhood education.

If parents or guardians are dissatisfied with the early years education place allocated to their child, they may apply for a transfer to another unit after accepting the place. We generally process transfers at the start of the term (August). We will keep the transfer application valid until we are able to fulfil the request for a place.

Parents and carers have the option of receiving all decisions relating to early childhood education and pre-primary education electronically. To receive electronic decisions, the parent or carer must give their consent and provide a valid email address.

    Online booking of appointments

    • Download the DaisyFamily app from the app store on your Android or Apple phone, or
    • Log in via your web browser at https://keuruu.daisyfamily.fi.
    • You can log in to the DaisyFamily app either using strong authentication or with a use ame and password.
    • See the login instructions in the DaisyFamily quick guide if necessary:

    • We would like to ask that appointments be booked at least three weeks in advance, as this makes it easier for staff to plan their shifts.
    • If you do not book any appointments, we will assume that your child does not require treatment.
    • Appointments close at 11.59 pm on Sundays, and the appointment times for the following week will be announced the week before, just as they have been up to now.
    • Appointments are booked in 15-minute intervals (00, 15, 30 and 45). This streamlines staff shift planning to ensure there are enough staff on duty.
    • It is important to book childcare slots, even if the times are always the same! We require that childcare times are recorded in the system for every child, as these are our most important tool for planning staff shifts.
    • Children’s meals are also ordered in accordance with their childcare bookings.
    • In future, a booked childcare day will count towards the child’s monthly hours, even if the child does not attend.
      • WHY? – Bookings for childcare affect staff rota planning; rotas are drawn up based on these bookings, and this allows staff resources to be allocated in proportion to the number of children present.
    • On a daily basis, we compare the booked and actual treatment times, and the higher of the two reduces the number of hours available.
      • Example 1: Booking for 6 hours and the child was present for 7 hours 12 minutes – the 7 hours 12 minutes are counted as used.
      • Example 2: Booking for 7 hours; the child was present for 6 hours and 58 minutes, so the 7 hours are counted as used.
    • If a child’s absence is reported during the booking window, the hours originally booked for that day will be deducted from the monthly care allowance.
    • Any time spent in excess of your monthly treatment allowance will be charged automatically, so please remember to allow for at least a 2-hour buffer when booking to account for unexpected changes.
      • Overtime of less than 1 hour will not be charged (59-minute ‘grace period’).
    • The time spent on the child’s treatment is shown in the booking calendar and in the billing details accessed from there.
    • If the child is only attending pre-school (9.00 am–1.00 pm), arrival and departure times must be provided so that meals can be arranged. If the child is attending early years education in addition to pre-school, only the arrival and departure times for early years education need to be provided. The guardian must ensure that the number of hours reported and attended in a calendar month does not exceed the maximum number of hours specified in the payment agreement. If necessary, you can contact the nursery manager.
