Private early years education

At Norlandia Tähtitarha, the child is at the heart of everything we do, and each child is seen and heard as an individual. That is why the children are divided into small, safe groups each day, where every child can engage in activities at their own pace and in line with their age group.

A small group has room for different personalities. When the group isn’t too large, the adult gets to know each child and understands their needs. This also boosts the child’s confidence and gives them the courage to take part in games and activity sessions. Ideas for planning group activities can often be found in what the children say and do.

Children have the opportunity to enjoy a calm and relaxed atmosphere in a small group. They develop their social skills and find it easier to be considerate of others. It is a safe environment in which to try things out and make mistakes, and to enjoy playing and lea ing.

At Tähtitarha, the focus is on nature and environmental education. Children lea in nature and from nature. There, too, the outdoor forest area forms part of the play and lea ing environment, and children lea the elements of a sustainable lifestyle. In addition to high-quality early childhood education, children are given a solid foundation for a sustainable lifestyle.

Daycare groups:

• Strawberries (0–2 years old)
• Raspberries (3–4 years old)
• Blueberries (4–5-year-olds)
• Swans (pre-school)

• Service vouchers help families pay for early years education services provided by private service providers.
• There is no statutory entitlement to the service voucher; rather, it is a discretionary benefit and is granted only to children living in Keuruu who are eligible for early years education.
• You must apply for a service voucher before your child starts early years education.
• The service voucher is issued for a minimum period of one month and takes effect from the start of the month in which the application is made.
  The voucher is means-tested, so the family’s income affects the value of the voucher and the amount of the client’s co-payment.
• You cannot receive private childcare allowance, the associated municipal supplement or home care allowance for a child at the same time as a service voucher, nor can the child be in municipal early years education.
• In Keuruu, municipal and private early years education cost the same for parents.

• Please contact a service provider approved by the city and arrange for care to begin (the service provider will notify the city directly of the children they have accepted into their nursery).
• Complete the early years education/service voucher application in eDaisys.
• Submit proof of income / consent for use by the Income Register and Kela / consent to the maximum payment in eDaisys. If income details are not submitted during the first month, the maximum co-payment will be charged (€311 per month for full-time early years education from 1 August 2024).
• Information regarding the service voucher decision and the value of the service voucher will be sent by email to the email address provided by the guardians. The decision can be viewed on eDaisy. The early years education department will send a notification regarding the service voucher to the service provider.

Please note! Payment of the child home care allowance ceases on the date from which the service voucher is granted to the child. If you receive the child home care allowance, please notify Kela of the date from which the service voucher is granted.

Value of the service voucher and the customer’s contribution:

• The service voucher is issued per child.
• The value of the service voucher may be up to €914.49 per month for children aged 3–6. For children under the age of 3 and those in part-time care, the value of the service voucher is determined according to separate multipliers.
• The sibling discount also applies to service vouchers.
• The co-payment for the service voucher is determined in accordance with Keuruu’s early years education fee guidelines. For further information, please visit the ‘Early years education fees and grants’ page.
• The value of the service voucher issued by the City of Keuruu is the same across all service voucher units, regardless of the municipality in which the nursery is located.

The cost of childcare for children over 3 years old

• Full-time childcare: €914.49
• Part-time care, 20 hours per week: €548.69

The cost of childcare for children under 3

• Full-time care: €1,371.75
• Part-time care, 20 hours per week: €823.05 Prices

The customer pays the service provider a care fee, which at Tähtitarha Day Care Centre is the same as it would be for municipal day care. The care fee is a maximum of €311 per month. The amount of the care fee is determined by family size and income in the same way as for municipal daycare fees.

• If a child’s early years education placement ends or the child’s municipality of residence changes, the service voucher must be cancelled.
• Termination of the service voucher must be made in writing using the separate service voucher termination form in eDaisys.
• Termination must first be agreed with the service provider.
• When giving notice of termination, the notice period agreed in the contract must be observed.
