    Introduction to the Sixth Form

    Keuruu Co-educational Upper Secondary School is a versatile general upper secondary school that offers you a wonderful environment and plenty of choice.     Sports Programme

    Are you a motivated athlete looking to take your sport to the next level and achieve greater competitive success? Would you like to seamlessly combine your training with your secondary school studies? The sports programme at Keuruu Co-educational School could be the right choice for you.

    Students selected for the sports programme at Keuruu Co-educational Upper Secondary School can ea 10 credits over the course of a year. 8 credits are awarded for practising their chosen sport for 4 hours a week (UV modules). On Monday mo ings, the whole programme takes part in joint training sessions focusing on general fitness and recovery exercises. These sessions include, for example, body maintenance, mobility training, and exercises to improve balance and muscle strength. On Wednesday mo ings, students split into their own discipline’s training sessions, which are led by professional coaches in the focus disciplines. In other sports, coaching is led by PE teachers. In addition to this, there are extracurricular study modules (KTO modules) worth 2 credits per year, which may include, for example, camps, tou aments or participation in leagues with the team, all related to competitive activities in the student’s chosen sport.

    Entrepreneurship Programme

    The Entrepreneurship stream comprises modules focused on entrepreneurship. Students can ea 8 credits in one year. The aim of the Entrepreneurship track is to promote a positive attitude towards entrepreneurship, to introduce young people to a variety of professions and businesses through local expertise in preparation for their future, to present entrepreneurship as an alte ative to self-employment, to strengthen students’ working life skills, and to help them adopt entrepreneurial ways of working.

    Entrepreneurship studies involve a variety of lea ing methods in diverse lea ing environments. Students gain practical insight into entrepreneurship through company visits and various collaborative projects (e.g. trade fairs, work experience placements) with representatives from the world of work. Inte ational projects may also be incorporated into the programme.

    Applying to sixth form

    Applications for the upper secondary school at Keuruu Co-educational School are made via the joint application system at opintopolku.fi(you will be redirected to another service)

    In addition to completing and submitting the application form, each applicant must submit a subject selection form to the office of Keuruu Co-educational Upper Secondary School. You will also need the Course Description Guide to help you complete the selection form. Applicants for the competitive sports programme must also complete an additional information form.

    You can also apply to Keuruu Upper Secondary School during the rolling admissions period following the joint application round.

    Once the ongoing application period has closed (e.g. for students transferring schools), you can apply by sending a free-form application by email to the headteacher of the upper secondary school, Vesa Leinonen, at vesa.leinonen@keuruu.fi

    Please attach a scanned copy of your primary school leaving certificate to your application if you are not a former pupil of a secondary school in Keuruu. The minimum grade point average for upper secondary education is 6.5 (average of academic subjects). Please remember to include your contact details in your application.
