‘Young People into Work’ recruitment grant: information for employers
In the Southern Central Finland region, the state-funded grant for youth employment is known as the ‘Nuoret töihin’ recruitment grant. The recruitment grant increases young people’s chances of finding employment, helps prevent their exclusion from the labour market and reduces the recruitment risk for employers in a challenging economic climate.
If you wish to hire a young person from the target group for at least six months but don’t know of a suitable candidate, we can help you with the search. Please contact our business advisors:

Amount and conditions of the grant:
- The employment authority will pay the company 50% of the gross salary for a period of six months, up to a maximum of €1,500 per month.
- The aid is granted as de minimis aid. Conditions for the aid:
- The successful candidate must be a resident of Joutsa, Jämsä, Keuruu, Luhanka, Multia, Mänttä-Vilppula, Petäjävesi or Toivakka.
- The person to be hired must be under 30 years of age and have been unemployed for at least six months during the seven months preceding the date the contract is signed. If the person has only completed basic education, a period of unemployment of three months is sufficient.
- The employment contract must be for a minimum of six months.
- Working hours must be at least 25 hours per week.
- Support may also be granted for apprenticeship training.
- Funding cannot be awarded to organisations, associations or the public sector. However, funding may be awarded if, for example, an association’s activities constitute economic activity.
- Work must not commence until the employer and the employment authority have reached an agreement on the support.
Obstacles to the granting of aid
- The applicant for the grant has tax arrears.
- The employer has made employees redundant for operational or financial reasons, such that the employees’ notice period ended within the 12 months preceding the application for support and the number of employees has consequently decreased.
- The employer has previously received a wage subsidy or a municipal supplement for the employment of the same jobseeker, and less than three years have passed since the subsidy ended.
