Starting January 12, 2026, official communications in Finland will primarily be digital. When you log in to an authority’s e-service (e.g., MyTax, Police, Kela) with strong electronic identification, Suomi.fi Messages will be activated automatically. From then on, you’ll receive official messages in your Suomi.fi inbox.
Who does this apply to?
✅ Adults using e-services with strong identification (online banking credentials or mobile certificate).
Who is excluded?
❌ Those without strong identification, a Finnish personal identity code, or who handle matters via other channels.
